Hello,
i’m just wondering if anyone can give me a site or advice about crate/ potty training my puppy 5/12 old
she’s 5/12 months old and half of the time goes outside and other times in the house right by the front door, i can take her out for 30 mins at times and nothing but then 5 mins in the house she’s pooping down by the door, isn’t she suppose to get it by now lol

Good luck! If you don’t like crate training, you can try the clicker method:

You can also try the tethering method which is when you tie your dog’s leash to your waist (of course with the dog clipped to the leash). Whenever you see her showing signs of looking for a place to pee (eg. circling, sniffing) , say "outside" and rush her outside to go pee. Eventually she’ll get the concept and you can start saying "outside" and she might be hesitant to go outside since she doesn’t need to go.
If you ever catch her in the act, correct her with a firm, low-toned "NO" (you can also "bite" her in the neck softly with your fingers) and rush her outside to finish. That is ONLY when you know she is about to pee or poo or when she is in the middle.
IMO, I think the crate method is the most efficient and the dogs seem to get the concept better.
House training:
What you want to do is set up a schedule for your use, this way you know when its time to take her out. For example:
In the morning
After naps
After walks
After playing
About 20-30 min after meals
And before bed
Also its good to take her out every 2-5 hours just in case
Now when you take her outside put her on a leash, this shows her your in control. Also take some treats with you. Now when you take he outside, take her to a area of your yard you want her to go potty in. Return to this spot every time. Once you see her go potty, say a command like go potty, this teaches her to go on command. When shes done go to her and give her a treat and tons of praise.
Now every dog is going to have accidents, when this happens DO NOT HIT,PUT HER FACE IN IT, OR YELL. Just keep your cool. If you don’t she will be scared to go in front of you and the training will be harder and she will begin to hide from you and go potty inside. The only time you yell, which you don’t yell you just make a loud noise, is when you catch her in the act. If this happens , like I said make a loud noise and take her outside.
Some tips are to keep and eye on your dog at all times, make sure your always in the same room and you know what shes doing. If you can’t watch her, put her in her crate.
Sit, Lay down and stay:
Sit: What you want to do is get a treat in you hand, make a fist with the hand that the treat is in. Then find him and start at his nose and go to the back of his head while saying sit. What I mean by start at his nose is put your fist with the treat there and move it to the back of his head. When he does this give him the treat.
Lay down: Not sure if I’m right on this one but its worth a try. Do the same thing you do as if you wanted him to sit, treat in your hand, hand in a fist. Take your fist, start at his nose and bring it down to the ground, while saying lay down. When he does it give him the treat.
Stay: Now this is going to take some time. This should be done after he knows the sit and lay down command. Make him sit/lay down and have a treat in your hand, again in a fist. Make him sit/lay down for 5 sec, if he can’t go to 3 sec. You want to move this time up once it gets to easy for him. Next you tell him sit/lay down and try to take 1 step back then return and give the treat to him, if hes stayed. If not try just lifting your leg. You can also try a step to the left/right and return. Again once this gets easy for him take more and more steps back. Also increase the distractions. This way if your in the park he wont get distracted and will listen to you.
Nipping: While play with him and petting him, make sure he doesn’t nip you. If he goes say no in a firm voice not yelling and walk away. This shows him once he nips the fun is over. You can also yelp like a puppy, when 2 puppies play and one bites a little to hard the other will yelp, play stops for a min and then continues, the dog who bit too hard knows now he can’t do that.
Jumping: As cute as it seems for your puppy to jump on you, its not good behavior. Now I’m not saying he can’t jump in your lap and lay with you, I’m talking about you just walked in and hes jumping on you. How you fix this is have some people walk in the front door, if the puppy jumps on them have your friends just turn around and walk out. This may take a few times and once he doesn’t jump give him a treat with lots of praise. Then move into your kitchen and other rooms using the say method.
Well thats all I got. Good luck with your puppy
All the best-

Crate training:
The sooner you start the better. Get a create that has enough room for him to stand it, turn around and lay down. If you want to get a bigger one to prepare when hes older you can but block off the back. You do this because a crate is like a dogs den. They want the den to be as clean as possible. If its too big they with go potty in one end and sleep in another. To get your dog in there but some treats in it, around the door to start, you not going to shut the door just yet. Keep moving the treats farther and farther back, also favorite toys and bones are good to keep him busy while hes in there. After you can get him to go all the way in, shut the door and say bed time or something. This teaches him ok, its not so bad in here and all I gotta do is sleep in here, Never put him in there for punishment for more that 20 min. Also surprise your dog, while hes not looking put treats in there. Dogs love surprises, I mean who doesn’t.
Good luck-

For crate training, we first made it really comfortable for our dog, with a little pad on the bottom so that he would want to go in. Then we told him to stay, put a treat in, and said "Crate" we continued doing this until he would go in without the treat. We adopted our dog and did this the first day we brought him home, so it was one place he felt safe. I don’t know if it will be harder with your dog. Good luck!

Maybe you should google NILIF (nothing in life is free), as a training method. Or the "sit=everything" method. With the second one, the dog is told to sit before going out, getting fed, getting attention, getting a treat, etc. etc.
When you are taking her outside, say "go potty" or whatever other saying you want to use. Stay out for about 10-15 minutes, if she starts playing pick her up bring her back inside, make her go in her crate, and wait about 20 minutes and try again. When she finally goes outside, PRAISE her like she just spoke english or something.

Make sure you’re praising her when she goes outside. Take her out every 2 hours until she gets the idea.
